OUR HISTORY

Founded by Hillary Fajardo in 2024, Balati EMS was created with one clear mission: to put the care back in healthcare. Inspired by the ancient Mesopotamian goddess Gula, known as the Belet Balati or "Lady of Health," our name represents healing, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to serving others.

What many people don't realize is that Balati EMS has largely been built through the tireless dedication of just two people—Hillary Fajardo and her husband, Rafael Pena. Together, they have worn countless hats, balancing operations, staffing, training, marketing, community outreach, compliance, business development, and day-to-day response efforts. Every milestone has been achieved through long hours, determination, and a shared vision of creating an EMS organization that truly puts people first.

Rather than accepting the shortcomings often seen in emergency medical services, Hillary and Rafael chose to build something different—an organization focused on compassionate, patient-centered care, operational excellence, and meaningful community impact. Their goal has never been to simply start another EMS company, but to create a trusted healthcare partner that serves communities with professionalism, accessibility, and heart.

Today, Balati EMS proudly provides event medical services, CPR and emergency preparedness training, on-call EMT and paramedic response, and other community-focused healthcare solutions. While the organization continues to grow, its foundation remains rooted in the same values it was built on: integrity, service, and compassion.

What began as the vision of a husband-and-wife team is steadily becoming a trusted name in emergency medical services—proof that with passion, perseverance, and a commitment to excellence, even a small team can make a lasting impact.
